General Guidance

Obtaining a Quote
As a company we aim to liase with potential customers as much as possible before a quotation is prepared. It is generally advisable to obtain 3 separate quotes and ensure that the list of work included is fully described to avoid having to pay for any hidden extras at a later date.

Selecting a Builder
Selection based on recommendation is always preferable but if this is not possible then references should be sought from previous customers who have experience of working with your prospective Builder.

Planning Permission
This is often but not always a requirement and is determined subject to many criteria such as the location of the property, type and size of the build etc. For further information visit the following websites www.planningportal.gov.uk and www.scambs.gov.uk/services/planning-and-building-control.

Building Regulations
Building regulations apply to most building work, therefore it is important to know when approval is needed. Regulation of building work ensures that health, safety, energy and environmental standards are complied with. A Building Inspector will periodically visit the building site to inspect work completed at key points during the process, prior to final approval and certification.
